Wouldnt get my ass here even if my life was hanging in the balance. I managed to muster up enough strength to drive to the hospital only to wait almost an hour to see a nurse even though there was nobody in the waiting room. I explained that I had been slipping in and out of a fever for 2 nights, had two massive swollen lump nodules and found out after that I was having a 38.3 degree fever. After which my symptoms were treated with Panadol and I was left to wait another hour for the medical superintendent who was spending 7/10 of my waiting time talking about her life with her fellow colleague fully aware that I was in the next room waiting for her attention. At the end of the 2 hour waiting time, she stuck an ice cream stick in my mouth, examined my throat with an otoscope and prescribed penicillin which she spelled wrongly aspanicillin, taking less than 5 minutes. The entire experience simply highlighted their lack of professionalism and neglectfulness.

Gatton hospital is your typical " if we get them back out the door as quickly as we can, then we've cured another one "I was admitted to hospital on Thursday with 40+ temps, sweating and shaking uncontrollably..They did bloods, nasal swabs etc... Come Friday morning, the change of doctors saw me being pushed out the door with little to no regard for my safety of the health and safety of the environment to which I was returning. Mind you pushing me out the door without getting any of the lab tests results back...I was forced to speak with a social worker whom came at me like I was a problem not wanting to leave, and when I explained the situation to her I received both palms in the air at me and the old well that's nothing to do with me and I can't help you... I said well you should at least know what you're dealing with... She left the room to seek back up from the head of hospital.Fortunately, head of hospital agreed with me and the current circumstances, unfortunately the red headed female doctor didn't bother to check in on my again for her entire shift... Very unprofessional to say the least. At 4pm that evening I had a gleaming doctor coming in with the nasal test result and showing negative for influenza... So I was sent out the door to walk home... Roughly 5kms away.I made it roughly 3kms before I collapsed in the Dark and rain on a back country road..Eventually someone stopped and collected me from the roadside and dropped me off at home.Today, Monday I received a call from my local GP that I infact have Ross River Fever, and this is the reason why I can't stand or walk or close a fist with my hands.. I've been bed ridden since Friday.I think I'd prefer to die at home than be dragged back into the " care " of Gatton Hospital

Wonderful service from ever helpful staff for multiple admissions of my wife in past 12 months. Caring and professional attention from staff and doctors - cannot speak too highly!

Think they are rude pigs will not be taking any one here again
